My name is Dr. Tonya Kearney. I am the owner and operator of Tutoring with Results. I have my MEd from Houston Baptist University (aka Houston Christian University) and I have been in education for 16 years with a local district. My passion for education started in my own home with my children and now I am reaching families throughout the state with tutoring online and in person. Since post Covid the breakdown in public education has been well documented with three years of lowered test scores and results. Private tutoring is the game changer for learning success! Let's bridge the gap and prepare our students for the next level in learning.
My Story
Books before Boys was the statement I heard from my grandmother coming up in our home. It was stressed to me Education would give me opportunities and options to grow, flourish and contribute to society. Graduating high school going straight to University of Texas @ Austin, then to University of Houston and finally finishing up at HBU. After marriage and starting a family, I was sparked to go back to school to get my master's in education after learning one of my children was born with a learning disability. I wanted to learn how to use different strategies and learning manipulatives to educate my own child. Once I saw ways to teach, I became addicted to the light in a child's eyes when they realize they can learn anything. With over 16 years in the field of education my passion along with my formal training I am equipped to see the same light in your child's eyes.
